This is by far my favorite sushi spot. I didn't take pictures of all the food because I ate it before they could set the plate down! Highly recommend the albacore sashimi appetizer that comes with crispy onion and the yellowtail sashimi with cilantro jalapeño. All the fish is very fresh and tender. Spicy tuna crispy rice in the mini size is awesome too. If you want a hot appetizer try the yellowtail ribs! Tried the Kushiyaki for the first time and it was really good but I prefer fish. The restaurant is small but they have outside seating with heaters. Mind you they are plastic tables and chairs on the sidewalk. Service is quick and staff is friendly(for the most part). I ended up dropping one of my salmon nigiri's on the floor and They were nice enough to bring me a new one which was not expecting. Prices are a bit high but you get what you pay for!
Love Yuzu! It's a super busy so I recommend calling and getting a reservation before hand. The servers and sushi chefs are attentive and they give you free refills for the iced green tea which I love. Food wise I recommend the Yuzu roll, spicy tuna crispy rice, albacore crispy onion, the salmon carpaccio, miso soup. Sit at the sushi bar to see the chefs preparing or get a table for more space. There's also outdoor seating available. There's a small parking lot on the side or you can park on the street.
This is one of the top sushi & sashimi quality you can buy for the price they sell, excellent menu , very fresh fish. We ate in 1 & 2 Michelin stars sushi places and the quality as close as it can get to this level with fractions of the price. Chief knows how to create art in the plate . Ambiance & service are average but the food makes us a client for more than 10 years & will never stop going, it is really great sushi & sashimi.
PARKING If you live in this area, you know that parking in Toluca Lake can be a bit of a challenge so don't get frustrated if you couldn't find parking. There's tons of parking on the main street, Riverside Drive, and a teeny weeny parking lot is right next to it but be forewarned, if you have a big truck or a full size car, you might find it a bit challenging to park it since the spaces are meant for smaller, economical sized cars. FOOD The last time I was here was over 11 years ago, maybe even more. I used to come here a lot knowing they had high quality sushi but I'm not sure if they have kept up their reputation so I'm giving it a shot. Let me tell you what looks good based on the menu they handed me. Baked Lobster Roll $42.00 with truffle dynamite sauce on top of baked crab roll with soy paper Deep Fried Jumbo Soft Shell Crab Roll $20.50 Unagi Oshizushi (pressed box sushi with fresh water eel 4 pcs) $21.00 comes with simmered shitake mushroom and egg Chilean Sea Bass Tempura Green Roll $22.00 comes with soy paper, arugula, asparagus, green beans and edamame Baked Crab and Salmon Roll $24.00 comes with soy paper, avocado, baked crab dynamite on top Today's special also includes Japanese Wagyu Beef $27.00 I piece served with Uni, Caviar, and gold flak SERVICE I was greeted as soon as I walked and server came by our table right away. I was waiting for my party to come in and they were very patient with me and didn't pressure me to order prematurely (I wasn't sure what they want so I didn't want to assume). AMBIANCE Bring your family here (if they like sushi like you and I do). But if you've been following me here on Yelp (wink! Wink! Yup that was a hint my love!) then you'll know that I am as honest as you can get with my reviews - especially when it comes to ambiance for your Dates. This place would be great for a 5th or 6th date, I wouldn't recommend it for your first date unless you're a regular and you know what you want. The extended menu is scanned via a QR Code so the short version of the menu is handed out to you when you walk in. It's a small selection so scan the QR for the rest of the menu
Food is always good. Service could have been a bit better. I had to constantly call the waiter for water or etc. also we had to wait almost 45 min even though we had a reservation.
